Orange

Everything is a bit orange here!  I am experimenting with dying some of the alpaca yarn and trying to use madder root.  In my mind I am dying a beautiful shade of ripe cherry - the result is not quite as planned!!

Currently the skeins are hanging up in what is left of the poly tunnel and I am hoping for a miraculous change of colour when it is dry.

Lovely afternoon on the hill today - cold but bright.
Still a frost on the ground which should help to control parasites.  Thoughts are now stating to turn to lambing and this weekend the ewes get their vaccinations to help protect the newborn lambs.  There are a couple of the older ewes who are looking a little on the thin side so I will probably take them out and put them separate so they can have some extra feed in the run  up to lambing.
